Nordhem has built upholstered furniture in Jämtland since 1948, starting with dining chairs for the region's school canteens. The workshop still sits on the same site, and still makes frames from local pine and birch.
Every seat is built around a jointed hardwood frame rather than a stapled one, which is what makes the covers worth replacing: Nordhem stocks replacement covers for ten years after a model leaves the catalogue, and will re-web a frame at any point in its life.
Description / Sven Bedroom Bench
The Sven Bedroom Bench sits at the foot of the bed, offering a place to pause whilst dressing or simply to lay tomorrow's clothes. Its solid oak frame supports a generously padded seat upholstered in oatmeal bouclé, whilst a matching bolster cushion provides a soft backrest when placed against the wall.
The bench's proportions have been carefully considered—wide enough to be genuinely useful, yet restrained enough not to overwhelm the bedroom. Subtle brass feet elevate the piece just enough to allow light beneath.
Materials: Solid oiled oak frame, bouclé upholstery (67% wool, 33% cotton), brushed brass feet
Dimensions: 130×45×48 cm (bench), 60×20 cm (bolster)
Care: Professional cleaning recommended for upholstery.
