Nordhem has built upholstered furniture in Jämtland since 1948, starting with dining chairs for the region's school canteens. The workshop still sits on the same site, and still makes frames from local pine and birch.
Every seat is built around a jointed hardwood frame rather than a stapled one, which is what makes the covers worth replacing: Nordhem stocks replacement covers for ten years after a model leaves the catalogue, and will re-web a frame at any point in its life.
Description / Atlas Pouf
The Atlas Pouf is a versatile accent piece that grounds any living space with its substantial presence. Crafted from full-grain cognac leather, it develops a rich patina over time, becoming more beautiful with use.
Whether serving as additional seating, a footrest, or a sculptural object in its own right, the Atlas brings warmth and tactile pleasure to your interior. The dense fill provides firm support while maintaining its rounded form.
Materials: Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather (cognac), high-density foam core with polyester fibre fill.
Dimensions: 55 cm (diameter) × 35 cm (H).
A humble form elevated through exceptional materials and careful craftsmanship.
